Jeep Recon 2026: It’s Coming Soon
After months, even years, of speculation, rumors, and misinformation spreading all over the web, Jeep has finally and officially unveiled its fully electric Recon. Well, not quite—the first official images have been released ahead of the model’s actual launch.
To be completely honest, we had stopped believing it would happen, as the American automaker has been delaying the launch of this model for quite some time. However, it seems this time is the real deal since the first official images of the Jeep Recon appeared on the brand’s website this week.
An important model
The Jeep Recon is likely to appeal to nature lovers and adventure seekers, as it appears to have been specifically designed for off-road driving. The first images reveal a vehicle that feels very much at home off the beaten path. In fact, one detail that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed in some shots is the absence of doors. This suggests that the Recon will feature a system very similar to the Wrangler and Gladiator, where the doors can be easily removed to make the driving experience even more immersive.
We don’t yet know how much the Recon will cost, nor what versions will be offered, but expectations are very high. The Jeep Recon will essentially be a direct rival to the GMC Hummer EV lineup.
Powertrain
Mechanically, we can expect the SUV from the American automaker to use roughly the same powertrain found in the Wagoneer S. That means a 100.5 kWh battery pack.
A gasoline engine?
For now, only a fully electric version of the Recon has been mentioned. However, it’s not impossible that a hybrid variant could join the lineup later on—great news for fans of the brand and the model who aren’t entirely convinced by a 100% electric vehicle.
Either way, the Jeep Recon is one of the most anticipated models to come. Needless to say, we’ll be ready to share more details as soon as the full model is officially revealed.
